What is Tuya Smart?
Tuya Smart is a world-leading IoT (“Internet of Things”) development platform, connecting the smart needs of devices by providing a comprehensive AI solution.
A summary of the most important features of Tuya Smart are as follows:
- Hardware development tools.
- Global public cloud.
- Development of intelligent business platforms, providing integration from technology to marketing channels.
In detail:
- No barriers: standardized solutions, flexible customer choice, Tuya's comprehensive solution for product matching, application development, and cloud services.
High efficiency: Tuya has served thousands of users in important categories such as electrical engineering, lighting, home appliances, smart kitchens, environmental health, and security cameras. It has rich experience and resources in the industry, as well as rapid research and development speed.
- Globalization: Global deployment of servers, service capabilities have covered all regions except Antarctica. Tuya cloud service system is a leader as it uses the world's largest cluster of service providers (Amazon Cloud and Ali Cloud). Smart devices that provide services through Tuya can be plug-and-play.
- Flexible OEM: Flexible development of multiple brands to meet their respective demands.
Wide compatibility: Mainstream smart access. Google Home, Amazon Echo are supported. All smart scenarios are implemented by a single app.
Tuya devices are sold under numerous brands, but they are all identifiable by the fact that they connect with the Apps: Smart Life or Tuya Smart. Both apps are owned and developed by Tuya, and have no differences later 2020.
What is Zigbee?
Zigbee is a wireless communication protocol created in 2004, as an alternative to Bluetooth and WiFi, and widely spread in home automation products.
Its main benefits are:
- Low consumption, making the batteries of home automation products last much longer.
- Low data transfer, avoiding WiFi network saturation
- Mesh network topology.
- Small size.
ZigBee was created by the ZigBee Alliance working group to define a high-level wireless communications protocol.
The ZigBee protocol also automatically manages the network, creating and maintaining routes dynamically. This allows the network to automatically correct situations of partial disconnection of any of the nodes that form it, thus avoiding having to physically access the equipment to be able to solve this type of problem.
A node within a ZigBee network can have the following roles:
- Coordinator: The network coordinator is a unique node and is responsible for creating the network, routing packets and allowing incoming connections from the rest of the nodes in the network. This node is usually always connected and integrated with a communication module with an Internet connection, which allows the data collected by the ZigBee network to be sent to a central server.
- Router: Similar to the coordinator where nodes act as routers, the network has the ability to route packets, but cannot accept connections.
- End Device: These nodes represent the simplest devices in the network. They are able to send or receive packets from the network, but do not have routing capabilities. In addition, they can enter a low-power mode, or sleep, to extend battery life, reconnecting only when necessary.
